Registration
•Where do I go when I arrive on Campus?
Guests should check in at the following registration sites:
-SROP Scholars– Earhart Residence Hall (ERHT) Lobby
-Faculty, staff and guests - Union Club Hotel Lobby
-SROP Alumni and other Graduate Student Professional staff - Union Club Hotel Lobby
See Accommodations for maps and directions.
Housing
•Where will I be staying during the conference?
SROP Scholars will stay at Earhart Residence Hall. Graduate students, faculty, staff and guests will stay at the Union Club Hotel. Registration and conference materials will be available at your lodging site.
•What should I bring for my stay in the residence hall?
Sheets, pillows, and towels will be provided, but SROP Scholars should bring all toiletries (shampoo, soap, etc.), as well as an alarm clock. Participants will have access to nearby bookstores, but the conference schedule is very busy. We recommend that participants plan to bring all necessary items with them.
Additionally, each residence hall contains vending machines and change machines, on-campus and pay phones, and coin-operated laundry facilities.
•Will the residence halls be locked?
All residence hall entrances are locked from midnight to 6:00am; however, we will make arrangements to open halls past curfew when the SROP schedule requires it. Each SROP Scholar will be issued a room key at check-in, and we recommend that Scholars keep their rooms locked at all times.
Appropriate Dress
•How should I dress for the conference?
Casual dress for your arrival on Friday is fine. The Friday welcome dinner will be a picnic/bbq, so your program t-shirts will be appropriate. On Saturday, professional attire (e.g. tie or dress) is recommended. You will have time to freshen up for dinner. Professional attire is also required for the Saturday evening banquet. Although most events will take place in air-conditioned locations, bear in mind that Indiana summers are hot and muggy so you should factor in outdoor temperatures when selecting attire. Click here for Things to Know About Conference Etiquette.
Roundtables
•Which roundtable will I participate in?
Each SROP Scholar will be assigned to a research roundtable based on their research topic. We will post roundtable assignments when they are available. Please check back.
•How should I prepare for my Roundtable session?
The 2007 CIC SROP Scholars and Alumni Presentation Guidelines are available on the Web site. The guidelines describe the sessions and provide tips to help you prepare for your session. Please note the different guidelines for poster sessions, roundtable presentations, and alumni presentations.
Posters
•What are the size requirements for the posters?
The posters must be a maximum of 3 ft. wide by 3 ft. 8 in. high. You may not exceed this space as another poster will be displayed in the space next to your poster. Click here for Poster Presentation Guidelines for CIC/SROP Scholars.

Campus Safety and Policy
•Is it safe to walk on campus at night?
Yes, provided you take some simple steps to enhance your safety. First of all, be alert to suspicious people or circumstances. If something or someone doesn't seem right to you, go to a well-lit populated area and notify the police. Travel in well-lit, well-traveled areas and do not walk alone.
There are more than 200 ETS (Emergency Telephone System) phones located around campus at the street level and in tunnels and garages - these are a direct line to the University Police and are recognizable by their blue lights. Most crimes that occur on campus occur from 1 am to 3 am and involve alcohol.
911 Dispatchers are available at 494-8221, 24 hours a day, to answer your police, fire, or EMS calls. In response to a call, Purdue Police will take the required action. Emergency help can also be summoned by dialing 911 on any phone in Tippecanoe County.
