At the graduate school fair, you'll have the opportunity to talk to faculty, graduate students, and staff from some of the nation's premier institutions. But, the Expo is more than just a grad fair. You will also have opportunities to:

    • Participate in workshops
    • Network with representatives from top-ranked universities
    • Receive advice from the National Science Foundation and other experts on funding your graduate education.

Please note: If you are interested in pursuing a graduate degree such as the Master's or PhD, then the Big Ten+ Grad Expo is for you! This event may be less relevant for students interested in professional degrees such as the DVM, PharmD, JD, MD, etc.

GRAD EXPO DETAILS

What: Big Ten+ Graduate School Expo for students considering graduate study in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and related fields.

Where: Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana in the Purdue Memorial Union's South Ballroom. Worried about the cost of getting to Indiana for the Expo? Apply for a travel scholarship when you register to partially fund your expenses! Please note that travel scholarships may only be used for travel from within the United States and its territories.

When: Sunday and Monday September 27-28, 2009 (A tentative 2009 Student Schedule of Events is available.)

Please note: The Grad Expo historically has been held the last Sunday & Monday of September. Unfortunately, this year's event falls on Yom Kippur. If you are unable to attend part or all of this year's Expo, remember you can download workshop presentations and handouts from this Web site after the event.

Who: Students considering graduate study in fields related to the Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and related fields. Women and members of other underrepresented groups are encouraged to participate.

Why: You will have the opportunity to speak with university representatives, network, and learn why you should consider an advanced degree, how to fund your graduate education, and more! Don't miss your chance to be recruited for admission by many nationally recognized graduate programs.

Registration and Fees: If you register online before Friday, September 18, 2009, the cost to participate in the Expo is $35, which includes a Welcome Dinner on Sunday evening, and breakfast, lunch, and admission to all activities on Monday, including workshops and the graduate school fair. If you do not register online, you are still welcome to attend the Grad Expo; however, please note that registration at the door on the day of the event is $40. If you apply for a travel scholarship, but do not receive an award, and therefore, are unable to attend the Grad Expo, your registration fee will be refunded to you, provided you request a refund prior to the event.

Attend the Grad School Expo and have the application fee waived when you apply for graduate admission to Purdue! You must submit your application after attending the Expo in order to take advantage of this offer. Instructions for receiving the application fee waiver will be e-mailed to all Grad Expo attendees after the event. Students who register for the Expo but do not attend are not eligible for the application fee waiver.
