Graduate students work with faculty at the cutting-edge of disease-relevant research in areas such as BIOCHEMISTRY, BIOINFORMATICS, BIOPHYSICS, STRUCTURAL BIOLOGY, CANCER, DEVELOPMENTAL BIOLOGY, DRUG DESIGN, CELL & MOLECULAR BIOLOGY, GENETICS/GENOMICS, IMMUNOLOGY, MICROBIOLOGY, NEUROSCIENCE, STEM CELL BIOLOGY, and VACCINE DEVELOPMENT. Einstein also offers a new PhD track in CLINICAL INVESTIGATION. American University of the Caribbean (AUC) School of Medicine has provided students with quality medical education since 1978. AUC is fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM), and is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as having standards comparable to the LCME accreditations of American Medical Schools. AUC students are eligible to sit for the USMLE, obtain residency and licensure throughout the U.S. The curriculum is modeled after U.S. medical schools and classes are taught in English using U.S. medical schools and classes are taught in English using U.S. textbooks. Students are required to pass the same exams as those taken by the U.S. medical students. Faculty members are M.D.'s and Ph.D's trained primarily in the U.S. and the United Kingdom. The medical school curriculum is comprised of 9.5 semesters. Five semesters of Basic Sciences are taught at the St. Maarten campus, followed by four and a half semesters of clinical sciences taught at affiliated hospitals in the U.S. or Europe. AUC has rolling admissions policy that accepts new students each semester. The academic school year consists of three semesters of approximately 16 weeks each commencing in the winter, summer and fall. Students are able to graduate with an M.D. in as little as 38 months if all course work is taken consecutively.

PREPARING OUR GRADUATES IN EDUCATION AND RESEARCH
The Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences is at the core of the educational experience for students training to become pharmacists and for graduate students seeking advanced pharmaceutical science education in order to prepare for careers as teachers and researchers in academic, industry and government settings. The Division is comprised of three pharmaceutical science disciplines: pharmaceutics, pharmacology and medical chemistry.
Faculty and students are at the forefront of interdisciplinary research that has been enhanced by the intellectual exchange of ideas, development of relationships with other schools on campus, and involvement with community and industry partners.
- Pharmacology: Recent research has focused on the study of tumors, neuronal disorders, melatonin and breast cancer.
- Pharmaceutics: Research is centered on process analytical technology, pharmaceutical materials science and formulation and development of different dosage forms, especially pediatric anti-retroviral drug formulations.
- Medicinal Chemistry: Synthetic drug chemistry is the primary research area, with a focus on nicotine antagonists, antifolates and various inhibitors that function as anti-cancer agents.
- Pharmacy Administration: Research areas are pharmacoeconomics, including decision and cost-effectiveness analyses in health policy and medicine, mental health-substance abuse issues, and health care ethics.
Much of the research is conducted in collaboration with top institutions nationally and internationally. In addition, the Division has benefited from increased NIH and industrial funding, which has resulted in the attraction of high caliber graduate students and increasing Pharm.D. student interest in research. All of these factors have ensured that the Division remains a teacher/scholar leader.

The National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship Program provides students with three years of financial support including a $30,000 annual stipend and $10,500 cost-of-education allowance. U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens at or near the beginning of research-based graduate studies in the Chemistry, Computer and Information Science and Engineering, Engineering, Geosciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physics and Astronomy, Psychology, and Social Sciences fields are eligible to apply. The online courses and degree programs are the same as the on campus programs in terms of requirements and academic rigor. Northwestern University - McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science
The McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science has eight departments that offer graduate programs. Each year approximately 160 new PhD students begin their studies with paid tuition, a monthly stipend, and fully paid health insurance. The PhD application deadline is December 31 for most PhD programs. All departments except for the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Science admit MS students. MS students are not funded.

Organized in 1973, the Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences is a graduate educational consortium which includes faculty affiliated with twenty clinical and basic science departments in the School of Medicine and in the College of Arts and Science, all at Washington University in St. Louis.
