Symposium

In the spirit of unifying environmental interests at Purdue and the local community, the Ecological Sciences & Engineering Interdisciplinary Graduate Program will host our sixth annual campus-wide integration symposium.  This year's theme is Urban Rise: Footprints of a Global Civilization, which was inspired by the fact that fifty percent of the world’s population lives in urban areas.  We hope to improve our symposia by gaining representation of a diverse group of disciplines whose involvement we feel could generate a "total picture" of urbanization.  This symposium seeks to stimulate interest and discussion in the Purdue and greater Lafayette community about the various interdisciplinary aspects of environmental research and application.

This year's symposium will take place on October 16-17, 2012 at Purdue University's Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship and the Hall for Discovery Learning and Research in Discovery Park.  Attendance to all events is free.

Registration is now open and abstracts are now being accepted for the Undergraduate and Graduate Student Research Showcase and Poster Presentation Competition.

The ESE Symposium, a student-run, interdisciplinary event, provides undergraduate and graduate students with an opportunity to present their research and interact with experts in various environmental fields.  It also raises awareness about the ESE program and other environmentally focused initiatives at Purdue University and beyond.
