Welcome to PULSe!

The Purdue University Interdisciplinary Life Science Ph.D. program (PULSe) provides multiple opportunities for an interdisciplinary graduate experience in the life sciences. During the first year of study, students participate in four different lab rotations before choosing a research area and major professor. The PULSe program offers students:

•
An innovative curriculum
•
Diverse research opportunities across multiple disciplines
•
World-class facilities and resources

One of the highlights of the PULSe program is the multiple research areas it allows students to pursue. These research areas, also called Training Groups, allow students to identify faculty members who have a common interest in a particular field of research. They include:

•
Biomolecular Structure and Biophysics
•
Chemical Biology
•
Chromatin and Regulation of Gene Expression
•
Integrative Neuroscience
•
Membrane Biology
•
Microbes And Their Environment
•
Microbial Pathogenesis
•
Molecular Evolutionary Genetics
•
Molecular Signaling and Cancer Biology
•
Molecular Virology
•
Plant Biology
